Terms of Service

Effective 23 August 2026.

Plain language, and it means what it says. Using Thousand ("the Service", at usethousand.com) means accepting these terms.

Your content is yours

You keep all rights to everything you put in your workspace. We claim no ownership and no licence beyond the one thing we need to operate: storing, copying and serving your content back to you and to the people you grant access to.

We do not train models on your content, and we do not sell it or share it with anyone other than the infrastructure providers listed in the Privacy Policy.

Your account

You need a Google account to sign in. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what your access tokens and your AI agents do with them — a token acts with your permissions, so treat one like a password and revoke it on /tokens if it leaks.

You must be old enough to form a contract where you live, and you may not use the Service if we are barred from providing it to you under applicable law.

What you may not do

Store or distribute content that is unlawful; infringe anyone's rights; attempt to reach another workspace's data; probe, overload or disrupt the Service; or use it to build a substantially similar hosted product.

We may suspend or remove a workspace that violates this section. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export.

Paying

Personal workspaces are free. Team workspaces are free up to three members; beyond that a workspace needs Pro, at USD 10 per member per month, billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Prices are shown on /pricing.

Early access: while billing has not yet started, Pro is free and the member limit is not enforced. We will email workspace owners at least 30 days before billing begins, and no one is ever charged without setting up payment themselves. A workspace that grew past the free limit during early access keeps all its members; the limit only stops new members being added once billing is live.

Members are seats. Adding or removing a member changes the number of seats billed from that moment; Stripe prorates the difference onto your next invoice rather than charging you on the spot.

Cancel any time, from the workspace's access page or by writing to us. Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the workspace returns to the free tier. We do not refund partial months. Members already in a workspace keep their access when it returns to free — the three-member limit only stops new members being added.

If a payment fails, we keep the workspace on Pro while Stripe retries the card (about two weeks). If it never succeeds, the workspace returns to the free tier; nothing is deleted.

We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice on this page and by email to workspace owners. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

Availability, and the honest part

The Service is early software provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We do not promise it will be available, uninterrupted, or free of defects, and we do not promise that data will never be lost.

Keep your own copies. git clone gives you the complete workspace at any moment, and doing that regularly is the backup we recommend to everyone, including ourselves.

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months, or USD 100. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending it

You may stop at any time; clone your workspace first, since deleting a workspace deletes its contents and its backups within 30 days. We may end your access if you break these terms, or with reasonable notice if we stop offering the Service — in which case you will have at least 30 days to export.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new effective date before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means accepting them.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
